Metaphor and Its Role in Enriching the Language of Literary Text (Rhetorical and critical study)

Abstract

The metaphor in the sciences of rhetoric and linguistics creates decisive division between “literary text” and “general script”. That’s why literary text in a “linguistic script”, had become a sort of change.  Therefore, we can describe the metaphor in literary text plays an effective role to enrich the literary language. It is a fact that initially words of language were created to convey the feelings directly of the realities, but revolution was occurred, and words were mold accordingly to the human needs and metaphorical forms progressed rapidly to achieve the goals like wideness, affirmation and likening etc.  So, in this article, we wanted to discuss the evolutionary change in meaning of linguistic word and how was usage of word “Majaz” as titles of the Arabic books. In addition to the presence of “Majaz” in the Holy Quran. Then the article will present the brief detail of linguistic experts who discussed the various categories of “Majaz” which perform vital role to enrich the “literary language” and create the linguistic text in an outstanding way. At the end of the article, there is short summary of “Majaz” and its vital role to enrich the “literary text” and to create decisive partition between it and the “general script”, in which there is a direct expression of realities.
