Abstract

In our beloved religion Islam, the established method to acquire the Hadith of
the Holy Prophet (SAW) is the strongest and most dignified. The power and
strength that evidence (Sanad) has given to the Traditions (Hadith) is
matchless as compared with former Shariahs. The sayings, actions and virtues
of the Prophet (SAW) are the prime principles of the religion. The principles
would be only trustworthy /reliable when their evidences (Asanad) are also
mentioned. Evidences (Asanad) have been declared as the features of Islam.
Numerous such books are available on the virtues (Seerat) of the Prophet
(SAW) where some of them are considered as the genuine and fundamental
sources. If the books on the virtues of the Prophet (SAW) are written in the
backdrop of evidence (Sanad) perspective, it is possible that these may not
contain any such material which may provide a pretext for the non-Muslim
scholars to criticize the virtues of the Prophet (SAW), because art of SIYAR &
MAGHAZEE is also a knowledge like the knowledge of Hadith.
There are several books available by the former and later sketch writers on
the art of character writing which have referred to the character events in
evidential background.
It must be in knowledge of character writer that he must be aware of such
books of character writers who have mentioned evidences while discussing the
events of virtues (Seerat). What are the characteristics of narrator in their
evidences (Asnad) is a question which should be discussed in the light of
ILMUL- ASMA & ILMUL- JARHA- WA- AL-TADEEL.
In this article there are evaluated fourteen character writers and their writing
styles who have taken care of evidence while narrating incidents, although
their standard is not like that of Ilm-ul-Hadith.
